Rebalancer: Pending Tab Overview

Rebalancer: Pending Tab Overview

The Investment Management > Rebalancer > Pending Approval tab shows all recommended trades that have been queued from the Accounts to Rebalance tab, allowing the opportunity to review the impact and details of the suggested trades, adjust trade logic, remove select accounts if desired, and approve or cancel the suggested trades.

The following article describes the features and controls of the Pending Approval tab. For details on the typical rebalancing process, see Rebalancing Accounts for more details.

The primary view of the Pending Approval tab shows each trade request, when it was requested, and the current status. In addition to Standard Grid Controls, the following controls are available:

Accounts

The Accounts column displays the number of accounts included in the recommended trade. If only one account is impacted, the account number is displayed instead.

Status

Indicates the current status of the recommended trade: Pending, Pending Approval, Approved, or Cancelled.

Actions

The Actions column lets you Approve or Cancel the recommended trade, or drill down to View Details about the recommended transaction. See below for more information on the Details view.

View Details

Clicking View Details in the Action column of any pending rebalancer trade opens the Request Overview screen, providing a grid of details for how the recommended trades will impact the included accounts.

In addition to Standard Grid Controls, the following controls are available:

Navigation

Along the top left of the section, use the breadcrumb navigation to return to the Pending Approval tab.

Set Trade Logic

Use this control to switch between Best Fit or Min Transaction logic for the trades.

  • Best Fit: Trade as close to the Target’s Precision setting as possible for the selected holding.
  • Min Transaction: Trade only as much as needed to get back within the Threshold setting for the selected holding.

If your Precision and Threshold settings are similar or very tight, there will be very little difference between these options. See Target Profile Details for more information on setting Precision and Threshold for a Target component.

Filter

To further narrow the listed view, you can click Add Filter in the upper left and select a column to filter by. Then use the second box to select which criteria to display.

For selection filters, select one or more criteria from the drop-down. Selecting multiple criteria will use OR logic, displaying the combination of all selected items.

For numerical filters, select a comparator and enter the value to compare. If you need to create a numerical range, you can add the same column filter twice with upper and lower comparators.

You can filter by multiple columns by clicking + Add Another Filter after adding your first filter. Additional column filters use AND logic between them.

Click Apply Filter to see the results. The filters applied will display next to the Add Filter button. Click to stop filtering.

Cancel All/Approve All

These controls function identically to using the Cancel or Approve Action buttons in the Pending Approval grid for the displayed request.

Remove Account

To remove one or more specific accounts from the overall request prior to approval, select the Account(s) in the grid. A new control, Remove Selected, appears below the now grayed-out Cancel All and Approve All controls. Click Remove Selected to remove the accounts from the request. If the request is subsequently approved, the removed accounts will not be affected.

Transaction Details

To see the exact proposed buys and sells for a particular account, click the account Name in the grid. This view also contains a tab to compare potential tax impacts long and short term based on the trade logic selected.
