Editing Reports

Editing Reports

Alert: The following feature is in pilot and may not yet be available to all firms.
Note: The All Reports Dashboard and the Reports within should not be confused with the Report Packager and the PDF Report Packages created by the Report Packager.

When Viewing a Report, you can make changes to the underlying structure of the report at any time, provided it is a report you own. Reports that are shared to you must first be copied and changes made to that copy. Any changes you make to a report you have shared with others will affect the view of all who access that shared report.

The following controls are available in a report only when you have edit access. If you make any changes to the following sections, be sure to click Save Changes when you finish.

Set Date

Reports of Data Categories that deal with financial data have a date selector available to choose which timeframe to display data from. By default most of these are set to always display the Previous Business Day, but this date can be adjusted by clicking the date selector and setting a new date.

Filter

Click Filters to see exactly which columns can be filtered and if any already have filters applied. There is no limit to the number of column you can filter, but only one filter per column can be applied.

  • Click View all filters if the column you want to filter is not displayed in the list.
  • The current number of applied filters is shown in the Filters header.
  • Columns that have active filters will be highlighted and have a filter icon.
  • Click Clear Filters to remove all applied filters.
  • To add a filter or edit an existing filter, click a column name in the filters section. The available options will vary depending on the data type of the selected field.
    1. Select a filter condition from the available drop-down list.
    2. If the condition calls for it, enter or select a value to compare against.
    3. Click Apply when conditions are set correctly.
    4. The filter applies to the report immediately so you can verify it has the intended filter effect.

Choose Columns

The Choose Columns button re-opens the column chooser from the Report Creation process.

Pin Columns

Clicking Pin Columns in the report header to choose columns that will permanently pin to the left of the report. These columns will persist regardless of scrolling the report horizontally.

Rearrange Columns

If needed you can hover a column header, then click and drag to move the column around the report. Certain columns are locked depending on the report type and cannot be moved.

Group by Column

To group by a column, click on the column header and drag the column above the header bar. Drop the column name in the new bar that appears to initiate grouping. Not all columns are eligible for grouping. You may group by up to 3 columns.

Click on the grouped by name to remove the grouping.

Edit Report Details

Click Tools > Edit Report Details in the upper right to open the original Save Report dialog. This allows you to change the report name, the description, and edit the Share settings of the Report. Click Save Report when finished.

Delete Report

To completely delete the report, click Tools > Delete. You are prompted to confirm the action. This cannot be undone and makes the report unavailable for anyone you have shared the report to.
