Adding and Editing Models
The Models page allows users to create, edit, and manage models.
Adding New Models
- Navigate to Grow Practice > Customization > Models.
- Click Actions > + Add New in the upper right.
- Fill in the necessary content in the available fields:
- Display Name: Internal label of the model allowing easy identification from the Models list, ex Conservative 0‑20.
- Risk Score From: The lowest Risk score result that will trigger this Model to be selected.
- Risk Score To: The highest Risk score result that will trigger this Model to be selected.
- Label: The name of the model that will appear in the Portfolio Manager and Client Portal.
- Features: A brief, client-facing description of the model to highlight its benefits.
- Model Fact Sheet: If desired, a PDF with full details of the model can be attached. The PDF will be available when the Model is suggested on the Client Portal.
- Complexity: What Asset Class Complexity (ie “Track”) level from the Questionnaire is required to suggest this model.
- Questionnaire: Select the Questionnaire that the Model belongs to.
Note: A Model can only belong to one Questionnaire. If you want the same Model available for multiple Questionnaires, you will need to duplicate the Model.
- Benefits: Enter any text here you would like the end-client to see that elaborates the benefits of this Model.
- Description: Enter any text here you would like the end-client to see that further describes the Model.
- Select the Asset Class components that will make up this model:
- Click + Add New under Components.
- Select an Asset Class from the drop-down.
- Adjust the Ratio to indicate the percentage this Asset Class makes of the overall Model. Ensure that the total of all Component Ratios for a Model equals 1 (one).
- Repeat the process until all desired Asset Classes have been added as Components.
- Click Create to save the Model and remain to make further changes. Click Create and return to list to save and close the Model. Click Create and add another to save the Model and open another new Model form.
When creating a set of Models for a Questionnaire, ensure that the entire range of Risk Score is covered between all the Models with no overlap using the Risk Score From and Risk Score To fields.
For example, if a Questionnaire has a range of 0-100 risk score and a possibility of 3 models, the three models could have a range of 0-20, 21-80, and 81-100. The ranges and number of Models can be whatever you decide, just so long as the entire range is covered.
Similarly, if you’re going to offer different “tracks” of models by using the Complexity feature, ensure that you have complete risk score coverage for each possible Complexity value.
Editing or Deleting Models
To edit or delete a Model:
- Navigate to Grow Practice > Customization > Models.
- Click the Name of a Model to open it in edit mode.
- Make any needed changes.
Caution! If you adjust the Risk Score From or Risk Score To values, be sure to adjust the remaining Models in the Questionnaire so there are no gaps or overlaps in the Risk Score range.
- At the bottom of the form are the three options to continue:
- Update: Save and commit changes but stay in the edit form.
- Update and close: Save and return to the Model list.
- Delete: Remove the Model from the Portfolio Manager. This cannot be undone.
