Client-led Standing Instructions/Cash Transfers (Pershing)
If the feature is enabled in the Client Portal configuration, Clients may request one-time or recurring deposits or withdrawals. The Client fills in all necessary details, eletronically signs the request, and request is automatically submitted to Pershing.
The full process is detailed below.
Client ACH Request
The process is begun from the Client Portal. The following steps describe the ACH request from the client perspective:
- After logging in to the Client Portal, select the Transfer tab.
- At the bottom of the Cash Transfers box, click Request Cash Transfer.
- Enter the required Cash Transfer details and click NEXT to proceed when finished.
- Select the Account to associate. If the account is an IRA account, see Client-led IRA Contributions/Distributions (Pershing) instead.
- Select Depost or Withdrawal.
- Select the Bank Account to associate. If the bank account has not been added, you will first need to add a new bank.
- Verify the account ownership. Currently, ACH can only be done between accounts with the same owner.
- Set the Frequency, Amount, and Start Date.
- Enter a Transfer Memo.
- Verify your Social Security Number and click NEXT to proceed.
- Review the transfer request details and click SIGN NOW to initiate and complete the signing process.
A success confirmation prompt will appear and an email is received acknowledging the submission.
If ACH Approval Workflow is turned on (Required for Pershing RIAs), the Advisor will receive an alert to approve any requested withdrawal before the request is submitted to Pershing.
