Benchmarks for Client Portal

Benchmarks for Client Portal

Advisors can now expose the same comparative benchmarks they see in their advisor platform to their end-clients through the Client Portal.

See Performance Settings in Performance Benchmarks: Administration for details on activating this feature.

Client Portal

1.      If “Display Benchmarks on Client Portal and Report Packages” has been activated, the the Performance history tab under Investments > Performance now reflects any benchmarks that the Advisor sees Manage Clients > Dashboard.

2.      This includes any specific benchmark already designated for a Household, any specific benchmark designated for the Model in use for the Household, and the up to three Total Performance benchmarks already in use for global display.  Note that if any of these benchmarks overlap, they will only be displayed once.

3.      Included are distinctive graphic representations of comparative benchmark performance and an easy-to-read explanatory legend at the bottom.

4.      When the end-client hovers over the graph, an informative fly-out responds dynamically with information for the selected date.

5.      For periods longer than 1 year, annualized returns are displayed to the right of a ‘pipe’ sign.  For instance, the total return of a client portfolio since 2015 displays as 64.31%, while the annualized return since 2015 is 7.25%.  This displays as “64.31% | 7.25%”.

6.      Account holders can also turn off benchmarks on demand if desired.

Report Packager

If “Display Benchmarks on Client Portal and Report Packages” has been activated, the Report Packager PDF generator now optionally reflects any benchmarks that the Advisor sees Manage Clients > Dashboard > Household > Performance.  Benchmark information is available on two Report Packager Pages.

Household Summary page

1.      This page’s setup section now includes the option to “Display Benchmarks.”

2.      When rendered with benchmarks activated, the report page now includes a Comparative Benchmark section that shows returns for selected periods.

3.      The report will display a specific benchmark already designated for a Household, any specific benchmark designated for the Model in use for the Household, and the up to three Total Performance benchmarks already in use for global display.  Note that if any of these benchmarks overlap, they will only be displayed once.

Performance page

1.      This page now combines two previous pages, Performance Chart, and Performance Viewer, into a single consolidated performance experience.

2.      The user can select from pre-existing periods (Inception to Date, Year to Date, Quarter to Date, Month to Date) or designate a custom date range.  The user can also designate one of these for graphing.  (Please note that only one selected period can be designated for graphing, and that one period must be designated.)

3.      Similar to the Household Summary, when rendered with benchmarks activated, the report page now includes a Comparative Benchmark section that shows returns for selected periods.

4.      It also includes a graphic display of benchmarks on the Performance History graph for the period that was designated for display.

5.      The report will display a specific benchmark already designated for a Household, any specific benchmark designated for the Model in use for the Household, and the up to three Total Performance benchmarks already in use for global display.  Note that if any of these benchmarks overlap, they will only be displayed once.
