Establishing a Schwab MoneyLink

Establishing a Schwab MoneyLink

The following process allows an advisor to initiate a standing Schwab MoneyLink between an account and a bank account. At this time the owner of the account and bank account must be the same to create a link.

Initial Request

The MoneyLink process is begun on the account profile that you wish to link to.

  1. Navigate to Manage Clients > Dashboard and select the account to link to.
  2. In the upper right, click Action > Account Maintenance > Create a new MoneyLink.
  3. Enter in all the Bank Account details and click Continue.
  4. Upload the required proof of ownership documentation and click Continue.
  5. If the client is with you, click Sign Now to sign the paperwork. If the client is not present, click Email to send the signing link to the client. Once the client has signed by either method, you can continue below.

Submitting the Request

Once the client signature(s) has been collected, you are ready to send the request to Schwab.

If the client signature is collected by email, the Advisor receives an alert that the MoneyLink is ready for submission. Once the signing is complete, the Opportunity is updated to a status of Awaiting Submission

  1. Open the Opportunity item from the email, alert, or Grow Practice > Dashboard.
  2. Check the information and instructions. Check the box to agree to the disclosure after reviewing.
  3. Click Submit to Schwab.

The MoneyLink is now submitted and will be enabled by Schwab within a few days.
